Overview
Discover the Manilva Oceanfront Wine Experience in the Marbella area. This experience allows one to explore the rich wine culture of Manilva, a region where vineyards are fighting to survive amidst urban development. This is a guided tour that will show the past, present and future of Manilva Viticulture. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday: guided tour in English language. Saturday in Spanish. For large groups, there are options.
At CIVIMA, the Vineyards of Manilva Interpretation Center, visitors uncover the traditions of Manilveña viticulture, oenology, and winemaking. The tour includes a visit to the small NILVA winery located in the same building as CIVIMA, where award-winning NILVA wines are crafted. Next, the tour goes to Viña del Peñoncillo, a place with views of the Mediterranean Sea, Africa, and the Costa del Sol, where guests can savor NILVA wines in the sea breeze and tapas, such as ham and cheese. If weather is not permitting, there may be changes to this activity. The journey from CIVIMA to the vineyard is done in the visitor’s private vehicles or can be done on foot, a walk of about 10 minutes of very interesting panoramic views of the Mediterranean Coast.
This experience includes snacks to complement the wine tasting. Private transportation is not included. The experience offers a chance to support the Salvemos las Viñas de Manilva Project by sponsoring a vine. After the tour, one can enjoy a swim in the Mediterranean or sample local seafood, like sardine skewers, at beachside restaurants.
