Hardangerfjord
Prepare to be amazed by the Hardangerfjord, Norway's second-longest fjord, stretching 179 km (111 miles). We will travel along the fjord to Tørvikbygd, a small village where we embark on a 20-minute car ferry to Jondal. Take this opportunity to step out of your car and soak in the different perspectives of the fjord from the water, surrounded by towering cliffs and tranquil waters.
Jondal
Arrive in the village of Jondal, nestled on the south side of the Hardangerfjord, and begin your ascent towards the Folgefonna glacier. Get ready for mesmerizing views of the rugged mountain scenery that will leave an unforgettable impression. The dramatic contrast between the fjord below and the glacier above makes this a truly breathtaking landscape.
Folgefonna Glacier
Ascend from sea level to approximately 3940 feet (1200 meters) above sea level, reaching the majestic Folgefonna glacier. This glacier even hosts a summer ski center! Enjoy a picnic amidst this icy wonderland (if the option is booked) or partake in a guided glacier hike (book in advance). This is a chance to experience the raw power and beauty of a Norwegian glacier up close, before beginning our return journey to Bergen.
Return Ferry to Hardangerfjord
We return to Jondal. After our glacier adventure, we'll take the ferry back to the north side of the Hardangerfjord, retracing our path through the stunning landscape. Use this final fjord crossing to imprint the stunning beauty of the Hardangerfjord in your memories. Take approximately 20 minutes to enjoy the views one last time.
