People find this tour exceptionally well-run and highly memorable. Reviewers consistently praise the innovative pedal kayak design, which allows hands-free paddling perfect for photography, the knowledgeable and patient guides who provide great information about local wildlife, and the guaranteed seal sightings with frequent encounters of dolphins and seabirds. Families particularly appreciate that young children can comfortably enjoy the experience thanks to guides' patience and the kayaks' ease of use. The only notable criticism from one reviewer was that they felt the price ($160) was high compared to free seal viewing available elsewhere in Kaikoura, though this perspective was not shared among other travelers who considered it exceptional value for a guided, intimate wildlife experience.
