Review Summary
People usually say this tour is an exceptional and thrilling experience (rated 9.6 out of 10 on Viator with 218+ reviews) that effectively blends paranormal investigation with San Francisco's rich dark history, Gold Rush lore, and true crime stories.[2][7] Travelers appreciate the professional guide, hands-on ghost hunting gear including EMF detectors, the convenient meeting location near public transit, and the unique way the tour presents lesser-known local history through compelling storytelling.[1][3] The main considerations travelers mention are that the tour includes mature content suitable for ages 12+, involves walking about 1.5 miles through hilly terrain with some steep sections, and that the experience is more story-focused than paranormal-focused, making it ideal for history enthusiasts and thrill-seekers rather than serious ghost hunters.
